Tier 8 tech tree Premiums – the good, the bad, and the expensive (part 2)
Jump to content. Hi all! For those of you who already have this tank, I hope you find this guide a good resource. For those of you who don’t have this tank, I hope that at least by reading this tank you’ll have a good idea of what you are getting should you actually decide to buy this thing. The JagdTiger 8. Therefore, you get basically the same armor layout as a tier 9 TD, but with a much less powerful gun and slightly worse mobility and preferential matchmaking to ensure it never sees anything above tier 9 unless in a platoon with a tier 8 without preferential matchmaking or a higher tier tank. Note that because JagTig 88 and the “freemium” JagTig share many attributes, similar tactics can be used between the two. Therefore, this guide may also offer some advice on the freemium JagTig, but be aware of the key differences between the two tanks. I also highly recommend that you do not purchase the JagTig 88 till you have already had the “freemium” JagTig or till you have gone through another TD line first, as it is definitely not an easy tank to drive. Jagdtiger 8.8 buff please!
Jump to content. I have been offered several other tanks at a discount but I have declined. I really want this tank especially with the buff it got. I know this tank can be awesome if played right, also lots of silver to be made, but should I wait a little longer for a discount or go ahead and get it now, for the 10, gold? Will I regret the decision or should I remain patient? Do you need a good German crew trainer?
The tier 8 Jagdtiger is an OK tank – as far as preferred matchmaking tanks go it can I love my Jagtiger but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.
Many years ago, WG started selling premium vehicles mostly tier 8 that would only see up to one tier higher than their own, rather than two, which would be standard. So an IS-6 tier 8! In exchange for that benefit, perf MM tanks were made kind of bad in some respects—for example, the IS-6 had a very low penetration gun for a tier 8 heavy. So when a pref MM tier 8 ran into tier 8s and tier 9, it was hurting.
But against 6s and 7s it was quite strong if played well. Then, a year or two ago, WG tweaked the matchmaking to a template system that made it extremely likely that your expensive tier 8 pref MM tank would be bottom tier and see only tier 8s and 9s in a large majority of battles. At that point you were just constantly playing against stronger tanks.

Jump to content. This tank needs one of two things either and preferably a pen buff to both shell types, or a substantial frontal armor buff. If this wasn’t a preferential matchmaking tank I would ask for both, but in lieu of the tanks strengths one of these buffs would make it somewhat competitive. Yes the DPM is exemplary with the tank but only if you can use it. The superstructure can be bouncy but the hull is cheese and with -7 gun depression you cant hide it.
It’s already an E at tier 8 and it’s always been that way, its just bad and its meant to be bad.
posted in On Topic Archive: Hello there fellow W.o.T. players, since I cm PaK 43 Jagdtiger (Tier VIII German Premium Tank Destroyer) Special matchmaking (as of ) that makes tier 9 the highest it can get against.
Is the Jagdtiger 88 worth it? I just realised that the JT88 is on the tech tree. I always wanted one, since I am tired of my Skorpion G and my E I like them, but they get boring eventually. The JT88 has really good dpm with ok penetration because of preferential matchmaking. Its accuracy is. Gun handling seems pretty good too.
How dependable is its armour? Is its mobility manageable? Is it a sensible pick up? My 6 skilled German TD crew is ready for a change of pace, but should I deny them this new experience?

Meaning not only are you making creds, but your training a crew as well. The entire design was a fascinating and legendary one that eventually succumbed to air superiority, lack of experienced crew, mechanical failure, and lack of raw material or supplies to keep it driving.
When the match begins, you should use your accurate gun to snipe the enemy, helping your flank thin out the enemies. The Binocular Telescope grants a great bonus to your view range, and while this vehicle might not be very stealthy, you don’t need to be blind, either. After the Panther chassis was considered inadequate, a wooden mock-up of a tank destroyer based on the Tiger II chassis was presented to Hitler on his birthday in Vents More RoF boosts and some other stuff too.
But the lack of a turret is further complicated by the slow traverse rate of only 22 degrees per second. Fitting a medium-calibre gun on such a massive steel beast might look weird at first, but the Jagdtiger 8,8 proves that this combination works just great. Unfortunately you share the Jagdtiger’s weaknesses too which is the vulnerable glacis plate and very weak side and rear armour.

It punishes you for upgrading and makes your stock tank more likely to be top tier which is where you don’t want it. I have no idea where you got that from, punishes you? Last but not least, it has limited Matchmaking of up to Tier IV. The downsides to cm Jagdtiger are more pronounced than its Tier IX cousin.
Review — World of Tanks 59 Comments: justin jia October 11, at pm I started playing this again yesterday. Also it really rips low tiers a new one. The traverse speed buff is definitely nice though, traverses about as fast as a fat medium tank. I still say build the preferred mm premiums as tier 9s and have them be fill in for when tier 8 and tier 10s have to be in the same lobby. Yes, I did watch the video. I am well aware of what it badly needs. Yes, the Traverse is needed, but nowhere near as bad as the armor is needed.

In theory, World of Tanks is defined by the gameplay and vehicles at the maximum tier of X. There’s little debate that this is the most challenging tier to play at, and any WoT player who would like to claim some genuine skill at the game can’t really do so without proficiency at tier X. However, that’s far from the whole story – tier VIII is where much of the action is in the game and it is here that Wargaming in recent years has really concentrated its monetization efforts with the introduction of a hefty number of Premium vehicles.
Some would argue that too many premium vehicles have been introduced – at a time when major balance issues exist in a sizable number of tech tree vehicles. Of course, premium vehicles have contributed to this “power creep” and many of them are now flat out better than the tech tree counterparts. Good play does. Yet to make WoT a viable game, a premium vehicle with the enhanced credit-making potential they bring is simply a requirement for the average player.
